Venice, Italy

Figure + City painting workshop in the streets of venice, Italy.
- September 19-22, 2024 -

I am excited to be hosting this special workshop and I feel that it will be a memorable and inspiring experience for us all.

For most of my life I have admired the paintings of John Singer Sargent and I have not only learned from his techniques but also been greatly inspired by his work. Particularly with his early Venetian paintings of the figures in the streets. During this trip, we will retrace some of the locations where he painted and we will absorb the same light he saw while better understanding his artistic choices. From there, I want to use this knowledge to boost our own personal artistic vision and create pieces that are unique to us.

This workshop will take place over 4 days (September 19-22 ) And as a fun bonus, it will overlap with the 60th Venice Biennale.

The plan is to paint together each of the 4 days in the streets of Venice with live models. I will demonstrate my techniques as well as work with each student one on one during these days.
Each day we will take a lunch break that is included in the workshop fee.

For this workshop, I have decided to break the price into 3 separate tiers. This will give students different options for pricing and experience. You can find the pricing tiers below.

I look forward to painting with you in the streets of Venice in September!
